Jamie is such a fun friend. We've had our few escapades, and the latest one she talked me into (with no trouble) was to put on a little dance number for the Primary talent show. We had just a week to throw a routine together but it shaped up quite nicely. It might have been even better though if I had actually driven to the right building for the performance. Arriving late and in my hurried state I made a few boo-boos, but still it was a crowd-pleaser. It doesn't take a wrong situation to be the right time to roll. It's always the right time to roll with me! This year I've done much less recreational riding, but I'm still pedalling to work a few times per week. I admit I've been a bit tired lately. I even dropped out of a couple of group rides, especially as our riders seem to be getting younger and stronger and I'm getting neither! Fun times this year have included the Bike-Around-the-Buttes, Miners Ravine loop, and a short bit of Pac West tour. January Riding
This year I decided that living in California's Central Valley means riding is possible year-round, with some preparation. I wanted to bike commute at least one day each week of the year, but 
that goal has already been lost. Last week's huge storms with a combination of rain, wind, and cold, were too daunting and I retreated to the van. Maybe 51 weeks of the year? Here is the Winter Rider, prepped for the worst, with double gloves, long-sleeve hooded jersey (purple) covered by fleece jersey (purple) and cycling jacket. Double layer on legs and double sox plus toe cover, and the final piece I added when the temp dropped to 31 was the ski mask (purple). And frankly I think I'm way cuter with it.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve dinner with Cristy & Kevin. It was a wonderful holiday spread. I got the seat of honor between grandsons. Which one do you think is still waking up from a nap?

Thanksgiving families
We're all part of many different families. I had the privilege to spend Thanksgiving with two of my families. Aunt Mary and Uncle Augie invited me to the Bill home for Thanksgiving dinner. This was my favorite home-away-from-home when I was young. But I am still young, as I learned to be from this always-active family. My cousins, John, Lorna, Deneise, and Joe.

Next day I got to spend time with another family. I met Cristy and my grandboys in Georgetown for some dirty fun. Sebastian escorted me around the place for awhile, and then I took off on Cristy's big bike which I proceeded to drive into a group of trees. All protective gear worked and I walked away first shook up and then laughing. The bike was no worse for wear, but one of the trees was felled. Hey, it was dead anyway.
