January Riding

This year I decided that living in California's Central Valley means riding is possible year-round, with some preparation. I wanted to bike commute at least one day each week of the year, but that goal has already been lost. Last week's huge storms with a combination of rain, wind, and cold, were too daunting and I retreated to the van. Maybe 51 weeks of the year? Here is the Winter Rider, prepped for the worst, with double gloves, long-sleeve hooded jersey (purple) covered by fleece jersey (purple) and cycling jacket. Double layer on legs and double sox plus toe cover, and the final piece I added when the temp dropped to 31 was the ski mask (purple). And frankly I think I'm way cuter with it.
